Board BIOS

Charles Anton- CEO, Anton's Cleaners, Inc., Tewksbury, MA

Charles  is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Anton’s Cleaners, the leading retail drycleaner in New England with over 50 locations.  Charles received a BA from Tufts University in 1979, as well as a JD and M.B.A. from Boston University in 1982. Since 1983, Charles has been volunteering at the executive level with such organizations as :  Groton School,  International Fabricare Institute, Lowell General Hospital , North East Fabricare Association and The Ruddie Memorial Youth Foundation. Within the Fabricare field he has been a distinguished leader in environmental affairs holding many offices and presenting at a variety of educational functions.

Bea Boccalandro - President, VeraWorks, Waynesboro, PA; Member of the Adjunct Faculty in Strategy, Evaluation and Corporate-Community Involvement, Georgetown University Center for Public and Nonprofit Leadership

Bea Boccalandro is the Founder and President of VeraWorks Inc., and specializes in helping companies reach excellence in their corporate-community involvement and customer care through research, materials development, executive coaching, strategic planning, facilitation, training, and consulting. In the area of corporate-community involvement, Bea has helped clients develop business-smart strategies and measure the impact of such strategies on the organization, the community, and the volunteers. In the area of customer care, Bea has helped companies develop customer service strategies, and has developed and conducted workshops in this area, including conducting AcheiveGlobal™ workshops. Bea's clients include large companies, such as AFC Cable Systems, Fannie Mae, First Federal Savings Bank of America, Honeywell, Schneider Electric, and the U.S. Postal Service; as well as small- and medium-sized businesses. She also conducts work for non-profit organizations and for corporate-community involvement membership organizations such as the Donor's Forum of Ohio, Points of Light Foundation, Corporate Volunteer Council of Montgomery County (MD), and Greater Jackson (MS) Corporate Volunteer Council. Bea has published research results for the U.S. Department of Labor, and conducted research studies for many clients. She conducts, develops and designs seminars, and teaches evaluation and corporate-community involvement at Georgetown University. Bea has an M.A. in international economics from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University, and a B.S. in applied economics from Cornell University.

Bill Brody- Sr. Research Services Manager, SC Johnson Wax, Racine, WI

Bill Brody is Sr. Category Research Services Manager at S.C. Johnson. Before that he held various positions in Marketing Research at Frito-Lay, Colgate-Palmolive and Decision Center. Bill graduated from Tufts University with a BS degree in 1979 followed by an MBA from Cornell University in 1981. He is president of the Ruddie Memorial Youth Foundation and serves on the Board of Directors for Shorewood Little League

Dan German- Financial & Business Consultant , San Francisco, CA

Dan German is general partner and co-founder of Fort Mason Capital, a money manager based in San Francisco.  Prior to San Francisco, Dan lived in Buenos Aires, Argentina from 1995 to 1999, where he was a financial derivatives consultant.  During the first half of 1997, he traveled to Moscow, Russia where he taught financial derivatives to Russian MBA students.  Prior to moving to Buenos Aires, Dan worked on Wall Street for 12 years, the last 8 as founder, owner and general partner of Blackhawk LP, a 50-employee hedge fund.  Dan helped found the Ruddie Memorial Youth Foundation (RMYF) in 1983.  Dan received an MBA from Cornell University in 1983 and a Bachelors degree from University of California, Santa Cruz in 1978.

Stephen Gilbertson- Clinical Program Administrator, Wraparound Milwaukee, Milwaukee, WI

Stephen Gilbertson is a licensed clinical psychologist whose practice has included a range of professional activities. While maintaining a rather traditional private clinical practice, Mr. Gilbertson has also been involved in program development; grant writing, evaluation, consultation, and training. He has been a critical member of the team of program developers responsible for the evolution of the innovative Wraparound Milwaukee project, recognized as the “best practice” in Children’s Mental Health by the Surgeon General’s Report (2001) and by the President’s Commission on Mental Health (2003). Mr. Gilbertson has provided training and consultation in several states, has authored several professional publications, and has been a federal grant recipient. He is recognized as an expert witness on issues of adolescent sexual aggression and other juvenile violence. In addition to his Ruddie Memorial board membership, Mr. Gilbertson serves on the board of the Wisconsin Professional Society on the Abuse of Children and the Partnership Council of the Bureau of Milwaukee Child Welfare.

Tom Mutryn- Corporate Consultant, Potomac, MD
Tom Mutryn was the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of GTSI Corp., a $1 billion public company providing IT products and solutions to the government.  In that role, he oversaw GTSI’s finance, operations and human resources departments and interacts with the outside financial community including stockholders, lenders, and analysts. Tom worked closely with GTSI’s management team to help direct the company’s strategic business and financial planning. He has 20 years of experience working in corporate financial organizations. Prior to joining GTSI, Tom spent three-and-a-half years as Senior Vice President – Finance and Chief Financial Officer at US Airways, Inc. where he led an organization of more than 800 employees and served as a key member of the company’s executive decision-making team. Prior to US Airways, he held the positions of Vice President and Treasurer, Vice President of Revenue Management, and Director of Financial Analysis at United Airlines. Before United, Tom held a number of financial management posts at American Airlines. Tom holds an MBA in finance from the Johnson School at Cornell University. He also earned a BA in architecture and an MS in structural engineering, both from Cornell. Currently, he serves on the Board of Directors of the Ruddie Memorial Youth Foundation, and the Shure Advisory Corporation. He is a former Board member of Galileo International, Alexian Brothers Medical Center, and United Air Lines Employees Credit Union

Charles Ryan- Chief Country Officer and CEO, Deutsche UFG, Moscow, Russia
Charles Ryan is the Chief Country Officer and Chief Executive Officer and one of the founders of United Financial Group (now Deutsche UFG).. Charlie has overseen the development of UFG into Russia’s largest independent investment bank. His background combines top-level financial expertise with a special interest in Russia. From 1991 to 1994 Charlie was an Associate and Principal Banker at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in London, where he helped the city of St. Petersburg to develop a plan for privatizing industry and real estate as a member of the privatization and restructuring team. He also worked in the Russia and Poland country divisions of the EBRD, executing private equity investments. From 1989 to 1991 he was a Financial Analyst at Credit Suisse First Boston. Charlie received a BA with honors in Government, concentrating on Soviet foreign policy, from Harvard University in 1989.

William M. Walker - Executive VP and COO, Walker & Dunlop, Bethesda, MD

Willy Walker is Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of W alker & Dunlop, Inc., a real estate financial services company based in Bethesda, Maryland. Prior to Walker & Dunlop, Willy held several senior management positions at TeleTech Holdings, Inc. (NASD: TTEC), including President and General Manager, Europe; Executive Vice President for Strategy and Business Development; and President and General Manager, Latin America. Willy joined TeleTech from Newbridge Latin America where he consulted on private equity transactions. Prior to Newbridge, Willy was General Manager of ALTA Airlines, a regional airline start-up based in Resistencia, Argentina. Willy earned a B.A. degree from St. Lawrence University and an M.B.A. from Harvard University. He sits on the boards of Transcom Worldwide S.A., Walker & Dunlop, Inc., Woodley House, and The Ruddie Memorial Youth Foundation.
